Reddit story video generator

Drop in a Reddit link. StoryTok pulls the title, body and post stats, reads the story in a natural AI voice, burns in word-by-word captions, and lays the whole thing over looping gameplay footage — a finished 1080×1920 MP4 in about two minutes.

The format works because it stacks two kinds of attention. The story carries the narrative payload, and the gameplay underneath occupies the part of the brain that would otherwise scroll. That is why a 200-follower account posting these consistently can pull six-figure view counts — the ceiling is set by story selection and hook, not by production value.

Which means the production step should cost you as close to nothing as possible. Doing this by hand is a 45-minute job: record or generate a voiceover, cut the gameplay to length, time every caption, crop to vertical, export. StoryTok collapses that into one render, so the only thing left to be good at is picking stories.

Everything renders server-side, so a long story does not tie up your machine. You own the output outright — download the MP4 and post it anywhere, with no attribution requirement and no watermark on any paid pack.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Paste the Reddit URL

Any public post link works. StoryTok imports the title, body text, author and score, and strips the formatting artefacts — markdown, edit notes, bot replies — that make a raw copy-paste sound wrong when read aloud.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a voice and background

Six neural voices: Joanna, Matthew and Joey (US), Emma, Brian and Amy (UK). Backgrounds are looping gameplay clips — Minecraft parkour, endless-runner, driving — or up to twelve of your own uploads if you want footage nobody else is using.

  3. Step 3

    Add the intro card

An optional title card renders the post as a Reddit screenshot — username, upvote count, comment count — and holds for the first few seconds. It is the single highest-leverage element on the video, because it tells a scrolling viewer what kind of story they are about to get.

  4. Step 4

    Render and download

One click. Narration, caption timing and export all happen server-side in roughly two minutes, and the finished vertical MP4 lands in your library ready for TikTok, Reels or Shorts.

Worth knowing

  • Word-level caption timing comes from the speech engine itself, not a guess — captions land on the syllable even when the narration speeds up.
  • The intro card never renders a [deleted] author or a fake 99+ score; it sanitises the username and formats counts the way Reddit does.
  • Credits are minutes, rounded up, minimum one. A 95-second video costs 2 credits and nothing renews.
  • Posting daily? Autopilot picks the day's best post from subreddits you choose, rewrites it into an original script, and renders on a schedule.

Questions

Can I use Reddit stories in my videos?

Reddit posts belong to the people who wrote them, so reading one verbatim is someone else's content on your channel — which is both a copyright question and, on YouTube, an inauthentic-content risk. Reading a post you have permission to use is fine; for anything at scale, StoryTok's Autopilot rewrites each story into an original script rather than narrating it word for word.

How much does a Reddit story video cost?

About 17 cents per rendered minute on the $10 pack, so a typical two-minute story is roughly 34 cents. New accounts get 3 free minutes with no card. There is no subscription and unused credits never expire.

What subreddits work best for video?

Conflict-driven text subs convert best: r/AmItheAsshole, r/TrueOffMyChest, r/relationship_advice, r/pettyrevenge and r/TIFU. Look for a post whose first two sentences already contain the conflict — that is your hook, and you cannot add one in post.
