Upload a long recording — a podcast, an interview, a stream — and StoryTok transcribes it, has a language model identify the moments that stand alone, and returns them as captioned vertical clips in a single download.
Billing follows the source, not the clips: 1 credit per minute of the video you submit, rounded up, whether you ask for two clips or twenty. A sixty-minute podcast is 60 credits. Subscription clipping tools count the same upload minutes; the difference is that theirs arrive as a monthly quota that resets, and StoryTok's come from a pack that waits until you use it.
The lever you control is the trim. Set a start and end before you submit and only that range is transcribed, searched and billed, so if the good conversation is the middle twenty-five minutes, pay for twenty-five.
What the model is actually looking for is self-containment — a moment that makes sense without the twenty minutes before it. That is a different question from whether something was interesting in context, and it is the reason manually chosen clips often underperform: the person who sat through the recording cannot un-know the setup.

Questions
How is this priced against subscription clipping tools?
On the same unit, sold differently. Both meter the minutes you upload, so a sixty-minute podcast is 60 credits here and sixty quota minutes there. A subscription's quota resets every month whether you used it or not; StoryTok's credits come from one-time packs and never expire. A fully used subscription is usually cheaper per minute, and a pack is cheaper when you clip now and then.
How does the AI choose which moments to clip?
It reads the transcript and looks for segments that stand on their own — a complete thought that lands without the context around it. That is a different test from whether a moment was interesting live, which is why manually picked clips often underperform.
Can I upload a YouTube link instead of a file?
Not currently — clipping runs from uploaded files only. Pulling source video from YouTube is not enabled, so download your own recording and upload it directly.
Can StoryTok post the clips for me?
Clip by clip, yes. Each finished clip rendered on paid credits can be posted or scheduled from the web app to connected TikTok, Instagram and YouTube accounts at 1 paid credit per clip per account. Ten clips to two accounts is 20 posting credits on top of the render, so publish the ones worth posting rather than the whole batch. Clipping is never automatic: you upload each recording yourself, and Autopilot only makes Reddit stories.
