Welcome to StoryTok ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we look after your personal data when you visit our website and use our AI video generation services.
We collect and process the following data:
- Account Information: Email address and authentication details via our secure login system.
- User Content: Videos, images, and text you upload for processing.
- Generated Content: The videos and metadata created by our AI services.
- Support Conversations: Messages you send through support chat, our replies, your account email, the page you contacted us from, and whether you have read a reply. We save your conversation so you can return to it and may email you about an unread reply.
- Usage Data: Information about how you use our website and services.
- Connected Social Accounts: If you connect a TikTok, Instagram or YouTube account for publishing, the platform, the account's username, its profile picture address and the identifiers our publishing provider assigns to it. We do not receive or store your password for those platforms.
- Publishing Records: The captions, titles, options and schedule you set for a post, which accounts it went to, its status, and the link to the published post when the platform returns one.
We use your data to:
- Provide and maintain our AI video generation service.
- Process your payments and credits.
- Publish or schedule your videos to the social accounts you connect, when you confirm a post or switch on automatic posting for an Autopilot series.
- Improve and optimize our algorithms and user experience.
- Communicate with you about service updates and support.
We share data with trusted third-party providers to deliver our services:
- Cloud Infrastructure Providers: For secure storage, computing, and content delivery.
- AI Service Providers: For content processing, analysis, and generation.
- Payment Processors: For secure payment processing. We do not store your credit card details.
- Database and Authentication Services: For secure user account management and data storage.
- Support Provider: Slack receives support messages, your account email and page context in our private support channel so we can respond. Replies are saved in your StoryTok conversation.
- Social Publishing Provider: Post for Me, only if you connect a social account. See section 5.
We send each provider only the data its part of the service needs. Each provider handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Publishing is optional. Making and downloading videos never requires a connected account. If you choose to connect one, this is what happens:
- Connection: Accounts are connected through Post for Me (postforme.dev), a third-party publishing provider. You authorize the connection on the platform's own sign-in screen, which lists the access being granted. Your password for that platform is never shared with StoryTok, and the access the platform grants is held by Post for Me, not by StoryTok.
- What is sent when you post: The video file (through a time-limited link or a copy uploaded to the provider), the caption, the title and options you chose, the scheduled time, and which connected account to use. Post for Me passes these to TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, whose own terms and privacy policies then apply to the published post.
- Public posts: Posts made from StoryTok are public. Nothing is sent until you confirm a post, or until you switch on automatic posting for an Autopilot series and agree that its videos are posted without a review.
- What comes back: The status of each post and, when the platform provides it, the link to the published post. We do not collect your followers, messages, comments or analytics from those platforms.
- Disconnecting: You can disconnect an account in Settings at any time. StoryTok stops posting to it and asks Post for Me to disconnect it. We keep the record of the account and of past posts so your publishing history and credit ledger stay accurate. Disconnecting does not remove anything already published; delete that on the platform itself. You can also revoke access from the platform's own security or connected-apps settings.
Our product analytics record that a connection or post happened. They do not include account names, captions or access tokens.
We retain your uploaded and generated content for a limited time to allow you to download, publish and manage your projects. When you approve a video for publishing we keep a private copy of it, so a post scheduled for later can still be sent. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support. Content already published to a social platform is held by that platform and has to be removed there.
