Where it posts, and what each one needs
Posts as a Reel
A professional account (Creator or Business)
Instagram does not let apps post to personal accounts; switching is free in the Instagram app. Videos go out as Reels and must be vertical or square, 3 minutes or less.
YouTube
Posts as a Short
A YouTube channel, a title and an audience setting
Titles run up to 100 characters and you say whether the video is made for kids. Vertical or square videos of 3 minutes or less are eligible for Shorts, and YouTube decides how each upload is classified.
TikTok
Posts as a Video
A TikTok account, personal or business
Posts go out publicly. In this release comments, Duet and Stitch are switched off for TikTok posts made from StoryTok, so if a format lives on its comments, upload that one yourself.
How publishing works

Connect an account, once
In Settings, Social accounts, choose a platform and approve StoryTok on that platform's own screen. You can connect several accounts, including more than one on the same platform.

Open a finished video and choose Publish
Any completed video made on paid credits can be published, whichever of the five formats made it. A highlights job publishes clip by clip, not as its zip. Creating a video never requires a connected account.

Pick the accounts and write the caption
One caption covers every account, and a platform can have its own. YouTube also takes a title. A caption is required for each destination.

Post now, or pick a date and time
Scheduling costs nothing extra. A scheduled post goes out at the time you asked for, subject to processing and the platform being available.

Review the cost and confirm public posting
The review screen lists the accounts and the credits: 1 paid credit per video per account. Nothing is sent until you confirm that the post goes out publicly.

Follow it on the Publishing page
Each account reports its own status and links to the post once the platform confirms it. You can cancel a scheduled post before it is handed over and its credit comes back. If a post fails, its credit is returned.

Publishing is a metered line next to rendering, not a plan: 1 paid credit per video for each account it goes to. Packs are $5 for 20 credits, $10 for 60 and $50 for 360, and credits never expire.

Hands-off, for Reddit stories
Autopilot makes a Reddit-story series on a schedule: it finds a post, rewrites it into an original script and renders the video. Each series has a posting setting. Off is the default. Review first saves every finished video as a draft for you to confirm. What it does not do
- It posts to three platforms. Tools such as Faceless.so reach more, and some include posting in a subscription instead of charging per post.
- It is not a social media manager: no analytics, no comment replies, no inbox.
- It does not write captions, titles or hashtags for you, and it cannot promise reach or monetization.
- It does not publish from the API, the CLI or a coding agent. Those render and download.
Questions
Which platforms can StoryTok post to?
TikTok, Instagram (as a Reel) and YouTube (as a Short when YouTube classifies it that way). Those three only. There is no posting to X, Facebook, LinkedIn or Threads.
What does publishing cost?
1 paid credit per video for each account you post it to, on top of what the video cost to render. A video billed at 2 rendered minutes is 2 credits to make, 3 in total posted to one account and 5 posted to three. Two accounts on the same platform are two destinations. Scheduling is not charged separately and downloading stays free.
Can I publish on the free trial?
No. The 3 free trial minutes are for rendering. Trial videos carry a StoryTok watermark and cannot be published from StoryTok. After you buy a pack, new renders are unwatermarked and publishable; a trial video you already made stays watermarked, so render it again if you want to post it.
Are posts public? Can I post privately or as a draft?
Every post from StoryTok is public, and you confirm that before anything is sent. There are no private, unlisted or send-to-drafts options in this release.
What happens if a post fails, or I change my mind?
A post that fails returns its posting credit; the render it belongs to succeeded, so that cost stands. Canceling a scheduled post before it is handed to the platform returns its credit too. Canceling does not delete something that has already been published: remove that on the platform itself.
How does StoryTok connect to my accounts?
Through Post for Me, a publishing provider. You authorize the connection on the platform's own sign-in screen, which shows what access is being granted, and your platform password is never shared with StoryTok. StoryTok stores the account's platform, username and profile picture so you can choose it. Disconnect in Settings at any time; StoryTok stops posting there, and anything already published stays on the platform.
Can Autopilot publish for me?
Yes, for Reddit-story series, if you switch it on for that series. Review first saves each finished video as a draft you confirm. Post automatically sends each video to the accounts you chose after its render finishes, within a spending limit you set. The caption and title are the ones you wrote for the series, reused on every video.
Can I publish through the API, the CLI or a coding agent?
No. The REST API, the storytok CLI and the MCP server render and download videos. Publishing, scheduling and connecting accounts happen in the web app. A video rendered through an agent appears in your library, where you can publish it if it was made on paid credits.
