Revid alternative
A Revid alternative for story videos, without the subscription
Revid.ai is a broad generative video platform: a hundred-plus tools, AI image and video models, avatars, voice cloning, an Auto-Mode that keeps a content plan running, and publishing to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. Its Reddit story generator is one tool among many. If that one tool is what you came for, you are being asked to pay $39 a month for the rest. StoryTok is the narrow version: the story formats, captions and clips, billed per rendered minute from a pack you buy once. We publish StoryTok; every Revid claim below points at their pricing page, FAQ, terms or MCP docs as read in September 2026.
The short version
Revid does far more. StoryTok does the story videos for a fraction of the price.
- Revid plans start at $39 a month and credits reset at renewal. StoryTok packs start at $5 for 20 rendered minutes and never expire.
- Revid auto-posts to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube and generates AI images and video. StoryTok does neither; you download an MP4.
- Both have a Reddit story generator with gameplay backgrounds and captions. StoryTok adds texting stories, your own footage and a scheduled Reddit series.
- Packs from $5, nothing renews
- Credits never expire
- 3 free minutes, no card
- Failed renders refund themselves

What the $39 buys, and what it does not
Revid's Growth plan is $39 a month for 2,000 AI credits, and those credits are spent across everything the platform makes. Narration costs 10 credits per 500 characters, so a 150-word story script is about 20 credits before the video is rendered; AI-generated footage costs 15 to 130 credits per five seconds depending on the model, and the pricing page says each video's cost depends on its length and settings. The FAQ is clear that all paid plans include publishing and the API, MCP and CLI, which is generous. The terms are equally clear that credits reset at renewal, that refunds are discretionary and only for accounts that used under a tenth of their credits within 30 days, and that exporting anything new needs an active subscription.
StoryTok has one meter and no renewal. A one-minute Reddit story is one credit, about 17 cents on the $10 pack, with any of the 63 included voices, any of 16 caption presets, and gameplay footage from the library or your own uploads. The credit is settled on the finished length of the video, so a 50-second story costs one credit and a failed render costs nothing.
Where Revid wins
Almost everywhere that is not price. Revid is a generative studio: prompt-to-video, image and video models from several vendors, talking avatars, face swap, photo animation, music videos, PDF-to-video, a UGC ad generator and voice cloning on the top plan. If your channel needs footage that does not exist yet, StoryTok cannot make it and Revid can.
It also finishes the job. Videos publish to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube from inside the app, Auto-Mode workers keep a repeatable plan moving, and the hosted MCP exposes publishing and scheduling to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code without any local install. It has 70-plus voiceover languages to our 20, and a library of three million viral videos to remix. For a creator who wants one subscription that generates, edits, schedules and posts, Revid is the fuller product, and a 4.0 Trustpilot score from 304 reviews says most of its customers agree.
Where StoryTok fits instead
- You make story videos and little else. Paying $39 a month for a hundred tools to use one of them is the case this page exists for.
- You post irregularly. Packs never expire; Revid's terms say credits do not roll over and new exports need an active plan.
- You want texting stories. StoryTok renders iMessage, WhatsApp, Android, Instagram and Snapchat conversations with a voice per side; we could not find the format in Revid's tools directory.
- You want your own footage under the story. Up to 12 background uploads per account, used like stock.
- You want a hands-off Reddit channel. Autopilot watches up to five subreddits, rewrites the top post into an original script, renders on a 12-hour to weekly cadence, and pauses at zero balance instead of billing you.
- You want the agent to run locally with a cost gate. StoryTok's MCP server and CLI show the credit estimate before rendering and cap spend per key per day; it works on the three free minutes.
- Revid Hobby
- $39 a month. For occasional, hands-on creation: videos from text or links, three million viral videos to remix, editable short-form videos. The pricing page does not show a credit count for this plan.
- Revid Growth
- $39 a month, shown against a struck-through $99. 2,000 AI credits a month, publishing to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, 3 Auto-Mode workers, API, MCP and CLI, 100-plus tools, 70-plus voiceover languages.
- Revid Ultra
- $199 a month. 12,000 AI credits, 10 Auto-Mode workers, voice creation and cloning, watch 50 channels for ideas.
- StoryTok
- $5 for 20 rendered minutes, $10 for 60, $50 for 360. Reddit stories, texting stories, captions, split screen, highlight clips and Autopilot from one balance. 3 free minutes, no card.
Questions people ask
Is there a cheaper alternative to Revid for Reddit story videos?
Yes. StoryTok makes the same narrated, captioned Reddit story videos over gameplay for one credit per rendered minute, from a $5 pack of 20 minutes that never expires. Revid's plans start at $39 a month as of September 2026, and its terms say credits reset at renewal.
How much does Revid cost?
As of September 2026, Revid's pricing page lists Hobby at $39 a month, Growth at $39 a month with 2,000 AI credits, and Ultra at $199 a month with 12,000 credits. Narration costs 10 credits per 500 characters and AI video 15 to 130 credits per five seconds depending on the model. Starting is free with no card.
Does Revid give refunds?
Revid's terms state that subscriptions are generally non-refundable, with refunds possible at their discretion if less than 10% of the credits have been used and the payment was within the last 30 days. StoryTok has no subscription; failed renders refund automatically.
Does StoryTok make AI-generated footage or auto-post like Revid?
No. StoryTok renders over gameplay footage, stock or your own uploads, and ends at a downloadable MP4. Revid generates AI images and video and publishes to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube from inside the app. If you need either of those, Revid is the better fit.
Can I use Revid or StoryTok from an AI agent?
Both. Revid runs a hosted MCP server with 14 tools for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code, plus revid-cli, on all paid plans. StoryTok ships a local MCP server, CLI and skill file for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf and Claude Desktop, shows the credit cost before every render, and works on the free trial.
